    The Dutch windmill in Syrau is the only windmill in Vogtland, Germany. The windmill was built in 1864 with two mills.

      There is exactly one Dutch windmill in Vogtland - the mill in Syrau. It was built in 1883, a previous one burned down shortly before. From 2008 to 2010 the windmill was restored and can be visited today. In addition, the "wing turning" takes place there. Information on the current opening times at syrau.de/windmuehle.

                  The Syrau Windmill is open from May 1 to October 3 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. During July and August, opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

                    A beautifully restored mill. Fully functional again. The staff is friendly. The eco-friendly toilet is also interesting.

                    You can visit the mill on your own or with a guided tour.

                    Built in 1883, it unfortunately burned down in 1887 due to a lightning strike. The same year, the mill was rebuilt in a new, modern style. The mill's propellers are almost as large as the mill itself and are powerful enough to drive all the machines, not just the two grinding gears.
