The owner and family were immediately drawn to the charm of a 400-year-old estate building. Now, with a limited budget, a multi-generational house should be built in it, which uses the qualities of the existing building.
The building on the outskirts of Sachsenhagen is characterized by two very different external references. In the west, the much-frequented entrances via a courtyard and in the east, the unobstructed view of the landscape and direct access to the garden. The aim of the design was to link these different qualities with the uses inside the building.

New life in old walls! The over 400-year-old domain building was partially renovated and converted into a multi-generation residential building. The original threshing floor plays a central role. It connects living and sleeping areas as well as adjoining rooms and the barrier-free granny flat with each other. The use of ecological building materials such as clay and the use of regenerative energies creates a healthy and contemporary living environment.
