"The Caribbean of Styria" is the name of the Green Lake. The emerald colors and crystal clear waters make this lake a unique natural spectacle. When the snow melts on the mountains in spring, the lake fills with crystal clear spring water. The height of the water level thus depends on the amount of snow in winter. By autumn, the water is steadily falling, in winter it disappears almost completely.

July 14th, 2021 - Today it was time again, a visit to the famous Green Lake was announced, but only around the lake, which actually has very little water, was not enough for us, so we planned a circular route where we then had a large view of the lake from above were allowed to enjoy, just great, this time too few visitors or hikers were on the way!
