Some do not like it that much because it's a dump. But for me it is a top highlight in the north of Munich, which I always like to visit. It would be great to visit in the evening if the Allianz Arena is illuminated!

I love it here! I'm there almost every weekend. I park in the Auensiedlung, that's where I grew up, by the way. Then I march direction and around the mountain, sit on a bench and enjoy this beautiful natural area! I can go there 100 times, always great!

The Fröttmaninger Berg can be seen from far away on the motorway. Despite its relatively low height of around 70m, the "Müllberg" offers a beautiful view over Munich, the surrounding area and the Allianz Arena.

Monument to the place that had to give way to the landfill. In the immediate vicinity are still a church and a small cemetery, it is mostly quiet and peaceful and you can see almost nothing from the motorway junction that is just behind.

There are parking spaces at the foot of the Fröttmaninger Berg.
But it is nicer to park in the Heidemannsiedlung and walk through the Fröttmaninger Heide, past the arena and over to the mountain.
When you get to the top, you can see across Munich and as far as the Alps if the visibility is good.

The Fröttmaninger Berg, with a height of around 70m (562m above sea level), often called the garbage mountain, is located north of the Gut Großlappen sewage treatment plant and south of the Munich-Nord motorway junction on the A9. The Fröttmaninger Berg is now a recreational area on the former garbage dump in Freimann on the northern outskirts of Munich. The wind turbine at its peak is visible from afar; the Holy Cross Church is a sight at the foot of the mountain. The former town of Fröttmaning is buried beneath it.

The Fröttmaninger Berg is a recreational area on a 75 m high former garbage dump, opposite the Allianz Arena. A diversely structured park landscape now extends over 35 hectares. The oldest surviving church building in the Munich city area, the Holy Cross Church, built at the beginning of the 13th century, is located on the Fröttmaninger Berg. It is worth visiting as a destination for a bike tour or as a detour off the main route.

Ascent and descent for cyclists quite tricky and bumpy. Some paths are actually forbidden for cyclists. I met mounted policemen there, but that didn't bother them kindly. Beautifully laid out at the top and a great view.
