In the city in the Middle Franconian Altmühltal live about 12,000 people. The Altmühltal Panoramaweg leads directly through the state-approved resort with Heilquellen-Kurbetrieb (Altmühltherme). Here the strained muscles can be excellently lifted. If you have ticked off this point you can visit some interesting sights:

The city palace (former moated castle), the castle ruins Obere Veste, the folklore museum, the war cemetery on the Nagelberg and the Jewish cemetery to name a few. In the park you can see sculptures and sculptures. Festive highlights are the castle festival in June and the folk festival in July.

As befits a stage stop on the Panoramaweg, the city offers a variety of accommodation and retreats.
