The Probsteierhagen Castle has a special meaning for me: At the end of World War II, refugees from the East were taken in here. One of these families was my mother's.

was used as a school until the early 70s, I went to school there myself from 67 to 71. The large hall was used as a gym. In the basement of the rear wing there is a Kyffhäuser shooting range. The front cellar vaults can be rented for celebrations, e.g. if you were married in the Progwisch Room which is on the ground floor, otherwise there are several markets here throughout the year, and a straw figure is set up in the forecourt as part of the Probsteier Korntage.

The castle park is a very good starting point. Parking spaces are available for cars. Many events take place there throughout the year. Spring market, summer market, Advent/Christmas market, many flea markets, etc.; but the most important event is probably the 4-week Probsteier Korntage in July/August. So at the end of the tour there is the possibility of further activities or even a stop for refreshments.
