From the literature:

On April 30, 1525, peasants from the surrounding area banded together and plundered the Anhausen Monastery.

The prior of the monastery, Johannes Reinhardt, a harsh and stern lord, had forced his subjects in the surrounding hamlets to pay ever-increasing taxes, even in poor harvest years, and that evening, the cup had overflowed.

The prior, foreseeing the impending disaster, had fled to Crailsheim.

The monks had hidden the monastery treasures in the nearby, dense forests toward Jagst.

The impoverished peasants were furious because they couldn't find the treasure they suspected was in the monastery. They drank the wine and smashed everything to pieces.

The Anhausen Wall, an impressive relic, rises solitarily from a green meadow. It is the last visible remnant of a monastery complex whose history dates back to the 14th century and exudes an air of medieval mysticism.

The approximately 18-meter-high and 10-meter-wide Anhausen Wall is made of rubble stone and still shows remnants of ashlar, shield arches, and cross vaults. Particularly impressive are the five well-preserved tombs of the von Bebenburg family, which are set into the interior of the choir.

The Anhausen Monastery was a Pauliner-Eremitenkloster in what is now the municipality of Satteldorf in the Schwäbisch Hall district in Baden-Württemberg. Today there is only an 18 m high and 10 m long free-standing wall from the former monastery, the Anhaus Wall. It stands about 150 meters east of the district road between Bölgental and Wallhausen, northwest of Gröningen.
