The Altenbeichlinger Mühle, a Dutch mill with a rotating dome, was built around 1845 on a slight hill on the outskirts of Altenbeichlingen. At the beginning of the 20th century, the mill burned down due to a lightning strike. During the reconstruction, the natural stone masonry was increased and with its massive tower, which can be seen from afar, it now represents a landscape-defining building. In addition to the actual mill construction, various farm buildings have also been preserved. This includes a half-timbered building used as a plum parish, as well as the bakehouse built from quarry stone with a still functional oven. Grinding continued until 1956, but since 1948 the mill has only been operated with electric power. A committed private individual has restored the mill with a lot of in-house work and would like to contribute to the revitalization of the region with tourist use and use by local associations. The German Foundation for Monument Protection also helped him with the exterior repairs and carried out roofing, masonry, scaffolding, glazing and joinery work.
