Ludwigsburg Castle, a testimony to Pomeranian ducal history and birthplace of the painter Friedrich August von Klinkowström (1778 to 1835), was officially taken over by the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in January 2020. After the planned renovation of the castle and manor complex from 2022, a new place of art, culture and history of Pomerania could be created for locals and guests.

Ludwigsburg Castle is located in the district of Ludwigsburg in the municipality of Loissin in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. Alongside Ueckermünde Castle and Szczecin Castle, it is one of the last existing Renaissance buildings of the Pomeranian dukes and is the only one that has been largely preserved in its original form.
