Only 40 minutes from Munich main station is Pilsensee, which is quite idyllic compared to its two larger brothers, Lake Ammersee and Lake Starnberg.

At the lido you will be lovingly supplied with tarte flambées and cakes from the adjacent kiosk.

The seaside resort in Hechendorf allows the only (apart from the entrance fees) free, direct lake access on the west side of the Pilsensee. The other western shore area is completely privately owned and unfortunately not accessible. The complex is well maintained and clean. A nice place to swim in the summer or to stay in other seasons.

Nice tour, wonderful region, out of the city towards the lake landscape. Great views, you can take a detour to Pilsensee. There is a lot to discover, the lakes are not far apart.

A great swimming area with a jetty and a long, flat entrance. When the weather is clear you can see the Zugspitze. The cafe is also very nice, good coffee and great cakes (they only go away quickly...).
