The Fährhaus Wittenbergen, a popular excursion restaurant, was located here until 1976 - it was not rebuilt after the storm flood of '76. The trees lining the terrace are still standing and are clearly recognizable as ornamental trees. The outlines of the restaurant are also recognizable.
