This small sacred monument, standing here on a hill overlooking the village of Friesenhagen, is surrounded by a hedge, creating a small "sacred area," from whose center rises the cross. The stone base bears a plaque with a dedicatory inscription. Several verses honor the cross, "O Cross, be highly blessed...", and commemorate the difficult times of the Second World War. The wooden crossbeams are slightly tapered at the ends and topped with a gabled roof. Round additions are added at the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse beams, forming a circle. The body of the crucified Christ stands out clearly against the dark wood, his head positioned precisely at the crossing point, so that the circle can be interpreted as a (albeit dark) halo.
