Grožnjan is a Croatian municipality of 736 inhabitants, in the Istrian region; its ancient name was Graeciniana, probably deriving from the rocky hill on which it is located. According to the 2011 census data, it is the only municipality in Croatia where the majority of the population is native Italian speakers.

Groznjan is very similar to Motovun in principle, only it is not as crowded and there are a few nice little shops with handicrafts, truffles and of course olive oil. There are also taverns. You can stroll through the old streets quite comfortably, it was also nice and shady there. There are many great photo opportunities. There is also a car park at the entrance to the village, but this is subject to a charge.
