The history of Burgfarrnbach Castle goes back to the 14th century, when a noble family first settled in Fürth. In the post-war period the castle served as a refugee camp. The city of Fürth later bought the castle and had it renovated to accommodate the city archive and the scientific library, which today comprises more than 35,000 volumes. In the meantime, the castle is also a popular venue, for example for wedding celebrations. By the way, guided tours of the castle can be booked in advance via the Fürth Tourist Info.

Burgfarrnbach Castle is the largest classical palace complex in southern Germany.
