Wild animals, rare domestic animals, a nature trail, an orchard and a restaurant with a large playground await you in the Roggenhausen Wildlife Park. The park is located west of the city of Aarau and is embedded in a rare natural idyll in the valley of the same name. The entire park area covers an area of around 15 hectares.
A large number of animals await you on the wildlife park circular route: fallow deer, axis deer, red deer, wild boar, mini pigs, chickens, wild turkeys, Graubünden ray goats, ibex, marmots, Valais sheep, ponies, rabbits and, in the Spycher from 1642, martens.
On the nature trail you will learn exciting things about the existing rock and loose rock layers, their formation conditions, water and fossil content, the weathering, erosion and relocation processes as well as the plant and animal species bound to the rock substrate at six locations.
The orchard is a specialty. On the hillside meadows in the very south of the valley you can see around 50 tall apple, pear, plum, cherry and plum trees, which are reminiscent of the well over 2000 types of fruit in Switzerland.
On the Älpli near the ibex and the Spycher there are two grate fireplaces and tables. The restaurant awaits you directly below the Älpli. The attractive playground is particularly popular with younger guests.
