Trains have been running over this simple, beautiful railway bridge since 1839. It consists of three arches in red sandstone. The oldest railway bridge still in operation in Germany was opened a year earlier on the Dresden-Leipzig route.

The Nied railway bridge in Frankfurt am Main is the second oldest railway bridge still in operation in Germany.[1] The arched bridge was built in 1838 and went into operation in 1839. The Taunus Railway crosses the Nidda River on it. The bridge is located between Frankfurt Central Station and Frankfurt-Höchst Station in the Nied district.
