        The picturesque Tiefental valley near Königsbrück was cut into the stony ground by the Pulsnitz, a tributary of the Black Elster. The upper reaches of the valley have been a nature reserve since 1990.

        The approximately 86-hectare area with the NSG number D 8 was declared a nature reserve in 1990.

                          The Tiefental along the Pulsnitz is something for nature lovers. The path sometimes runs right on the bank, but on other sections it also runs a few meters away from the river. There are no benches on the section, but the many fallen tree trunks offer enough seating. The path itself is always kept clear, otherwise nature can do whatever it wants here. The logs stay where they fell, even across the Pulsnitz. This also has its share in the atmosphere in this valley.
