The entire area was once the Würselener Heide. But that was a long time ago. Only the narrow strip to the right of the "old railway line" (from the direction of Teuterhof) remains. The valley slope up to the worm served until 1960 as that of the Gouley pit as a waste dump, which meant that the heath was buried more and more. The heap has been largely cleared away. In this area there is still a heap of coal-acid lime residues from the Solvaywerke, a former soda factory from Würselen, which ceased production in 1929. The heap is off the beaten path for people, but can be seen in certain places. The black and white speckled stone eggs distributed throughout the area are intended to commemorate the common past of coal and lime in Würselen. The entire site is protected and may only be entered on the paths.

The granite eggs (actually marble) go back to the EuRegionale in 2008 and have become popular landscape art objects on the edge of the Wurmtal.
