Highly recommended. It's "just" some old iron, but it's still impressive how a railway line was built over 100 years ago. The long approach bridge is particularly fascinating. Hopefully, trains will run there again soon!

On the girder portal of the swing bridge is the operating lodge for the bridge guard. For this a house was built next to the bridge in Timmort.

Shortly before the Second World War, the train traffic to Prerow and Zingst reached its greatest density. KdF special trains brought the tourists to thousands in the resort areas. At the end of the war courageous Zingsters prevented the planned demolition of the Meiningen bridge. After the Second World War, the tracks were removed from Bresewitz to Zingst and Prerow as reparations for the Soviet Union, 1947 drove the last train on the bridge.

In July 2011, the construction of a makeshift bridge was started. This 230-meter temporary bridge is designed in two lanes, with a steel structure equipped with a folding mechanism that allows passage through the ship. The folding structure was installed on 3 February 2012. On March 15, 2012, a 47-meter-long, 146-tonne bridge element was floated and anchored on pedestal bearings.
