The later Saxon King Albert was born on April 23, 1828 in Dresden. On September 29, 1873 Albert was crowned King of Saxony. During the reign of King Albert, Saxony experienced a great economic and cultural boom, which could not be easier. a. in the development of the railways, in the reorganization of the tax system and in the modernization of the education system. Soon after his reign, King Albert took over the Old Hunting Lodge in Wermsdorf and built it to a hunting quarters. Like many Saxon rulers, King Albert often came to Wermsdorf. He was a passionate hunter.

From 1873 to 1887, King Albert came twice a year to Wermsdorf every year until his death to hunt and recover. During his walks through the village and into the surrounding area, he often conversed with the citizens of Wermsdorf, taking part in their ideas and concerns. Because of its simplicity and popularity, he was very popular with the Wermsdorf residents and enjoyed a great authority. On June 19, 1902 King Albert died in Sybillenort / Silesia.
