Construction of the church by the Vimercati-Sanseverino family began in 1941; it is a construction in classical forms with the facade marked by four pilasters that enclose a rose window and two statues, all surmounted by a triangular tympanum. A porch is leaning against the façade, under which some commemorative plaques referring to the disappeared Cremaschi Alpine troops are walled, for which the building is popularly called "church of the Alpine troops". In 1951 the mortal remains of the lieutenant of the Alpini Marcantonio Vimercati-Sanseverino were transferred and the church changed its dedication, from the original San Marco to the current Santa Caterina in honor of the mother of the deceased. The church is in a partial state of decay, closed to worship and with walled entrances.
