The Hohenstein is a great destination with a great view! With the Mtb the ascent is a small challenge! ;) One can sit directly on the cliffs and let the view wander into the distance, whereby one should make sure that they are in no way secured!

The pictures show the Hohenstein with its rocks and views. The map shows the departure from there towards the Pappmühle. A very narrow hiking trail that is not suitable for all bikers.

The Hohenstein - and in particular the rock with a viewing platform, also called the Devil's Pulpit - can be easily reached by bike from all directions, of course also on foot. Once climbed there is an excellent view to the south, into the landscape between Rinteln and Hameln.

The "Devil's Pulpit" lies between the "Green Altar" and the actual Hohenstein. It is one of the striking rocks in the popular hiking area and is also called "Trudenstein". Just like the "Green Altar", the "Devil's Pulpit" is said to have served as a sacrificial altar for our ancestors. Stones with a diameter of around 8 meters have been placed near the rocky outcrop, suggesting that this was once a sacrificial site.
