Since 1771, the 5 districts of Kottweiler-Schwanden, Mackenbach, Miesenbach, Reichenbach-Steegen and Schwedelbach have converged here at the so-called Wolfsgrube. Today, unfortunately, we no longer see the historic pentagonal stone, because it was once damaged and then burst in a fire that was too hot. According to a report in the Rheinpfalz, the orientation of this new pentagon stone, erected in 2007, is not 100% correct. Another interesting piece of information: An old Roman path led past this point.
