Originally built as a castle (of which nothing remains), the Château de Ripaille has existed since the end of the 13th or the beginning of the 14th century. It was also a Carthusian monastery in the meantime and is now privately owned - but you can visit it.
The castle itself has been classified as a historic monument since 1942. The surrounding buildings (for example, the entrance pavilion, the Bonne de Bourbon tower, the pavilion, the Carthusian cell and the agricultural buildings of the former Carthusian monastery) are classified since 1991.

The Château de Ripaille is the former residence of the Dukes of Savoy. It has been privately owned since the beginning of the 20th century and can be visited for an entrance fee. The adjoining property is about 20 hectares. There is a tree museum, a so-called arboretum, with trees from all over the world. This is what you should visit first and foremost. Otherwise the château is surrounded by vineyards. The prices for the visit are as follows:
Reduced price: €8
Adults: €10
Youth: €5
Audio guide: €3. Free for children under 7 years old.
Group rate from 20 people.
