The Canitz pipe bridge (2010)

A special feature is the crossing of the Mulde: In the direction of Leipzig, two drinking water pipes - official designation: double transport line DN 1000 [5] - run within a 125 meter long three-span concrete arch bridge with plaster structure (created around 1912). Stairs on the side allow pedestrians to walk and change banks. Originally planned as a road bridge, this use failed because of the Canitz landowner at the time, who refused to approve the construction of the access ramps. This is how it has remained with the staircases of this Mulden high bridge to this day.
