      The place of pilgrimage Kohlstattbrunn got its name from a spring, the Kohlstattbrunnen. The fountain was already used as a pilgrimage destination in the 18th century, because the fresh drinking water from the spring was used as healing water for people with eye and throat problems.

        Every year on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (August 15), believers make a star-shaped pilgrimage to the Kohlstattbrunn pilgrimage site in the middle of the forest at the foot of the Haidel. During the year it is much quieter at this pilgrimage chapel, next to which a Heilbrünndl is looking for its way out of the earth.
