The asphalted road to the castle branches off from the town of Pielungo. About one km before the castle there is a shady picnic area. Giacomo Ceconi (1883-1910), of humble origins who became a great railway builder and created a nobleman by the Emperor Franz Joseph I and count of King Umberto I, greatly enlarged the birthplace in 1890-1908, making it assume the current lines. The castle is a fine example of neo-Gothic and fairytale architecture that has no equal in the region. The charm of the complex increases its enchanting panoramic position isolated and surrounded by greenery.
