The path to the small Sonnstein is well signposted and recommended for children aged 10-12 and over. The Sonnstein Hut is open on Sundays and public holidays from Easter to the end of October and every day during the summer holidays.
There are often a lot of hikers out and about, so it is sometimes worth climbing it outside of the season. The great view over the Traunsee to the foothills of the Alps is worth it.
