This towpath along the Sheffield Canal is a pleasure to ride. Affording a glimpse into the city’s former (and current) industrial heritage, as well as abundant wildlife spotting opportunities, it is an entertaining trail. The towpath can be a little rough in places and a little narrow, especially under some of the bridges, so take care.

Half of this route follows the Sheffield and Tinsley canal, then joins up with the River Don Five Weirs Walk into Rotherham town centre. The towpath is a bit rough in places but from Tinsley into Rotherham it’s surfaced.
