Aachen-Jülich Railway Cycle Path. A continuous and comfortable cycle route of approximately 30 kilometers is being created between Aachen and Jülich, following the route of the former Aachen-North-Jülich railway line. The Aachen City Region has been developing the cycle path within its territory in several phases since 2014. From the district border north of Alsdorf-Hoengen, the Düren district also began construction in 2019, extending towards Jülich.
The Aachen-North-Jülich railway line was decommissioned in the early 1980s and subsequently largely dismantled.
