The parish church of St. Remigius was built between 1738 and 1748 as a pilgrimage church in the Baroque style instead of an older church building. After the pilgrimage lost its importance in the early 19th century, the church, which is a listed building, still serves as a normal parish church.
The reason for the pilgrimage was an apparition that the Dahenfeld pastor Johann Georg Joseph Sutor and the visitors of the Vespers had on August 10, 1735 (Laurentiustag): The figure of Jesus at the crucifix of the Dahenfeld church had "sweat, with blood mixed". On some days there were over 1,000 pilgrims in Dahenfeld, which at that time had around 250 inhabitants.
