An alpine and very long via ferrata! Great for experienced climbers with appropriate gear.

The Innsbruck via ferrata consists of two parts. For both parts of the via ferrata from the Hafelekar mountain station to the Seegrube middle station, you should calculate a total of 8 hours including breaks. It is a serious alpine undertaking that requires experience, fitness, surefootedness and a head for heights. The via ferrata is not suitable for children. However, young people who are in good physical condition and have alpine experience can easily master the climb.

For the 2 km long, first part on the steel cable you need 3.5 hours plus breaks, 15 minutes ascent from the Hafelekar mountain station and 1 hour descent to the Seegrube middle station.

Although most of them are only rated B, there are also a few B/C and C sections. Except for a short suspension bridge, it always goes along the rock with few step aids. The via ferrata often runs directly on the ridge. It is well secured. But there are also some - especially at the end - unsecured, long and exposed walking passages.

For the second part of the Innsbruck via ferrata you need an additional hour plus breaks, 15 minutes ascent from the end of the first part and 1.5 hours descent to the Seegrube middle station. The times calculated by Komoot do not fit on the via ferrata.

The second part is slightly heavier than the first part and ends with a C/D wall. In the second part, the via ferrata winds its way through a bizarre rock landscape with almost no stepping aids but well secured.

A helmet, climbing harness and energy absorber are a matter of course, even for experienced climbers. Via ferrata gloves with whole fingers are also recommended. For youngsters you might want to take a short safety rope with you. You should have enough provisions, water, weather protection and a bivouac sack with you and make sure the weather is stable. There is no way to take shortcuts, escape the weather, or stop along the way. The restaurant at the middle station closes well before the last descent of the cable car. Cell phone reception is given.

Great via ferrata, which is divided into 2 sections.

For experienced climbers, a via ferrata delight, but beginners should not underestimate this climb! Sun protection and sufficient water are important in summer.
