The Müggenburg is a ruin of a late medieval castle of the Knights of Salem with a tower hill for the keep, main castle and outer bailey with a courtyard. The noble landlords of the 13th and 14th centuries protected themselves in castles, which were often built in lowlands.
The wooden or stone keep on a piled-up hill (tower hill) had special defense functions. A very interesting historical place.
