At the top of the Els Angels climb, there is a monastery, with a cafe and restaurant, a large terrace with fantastic views to the Pyrenees, Garrotxa and the Mediterranean Sea, and toilets. It is also the location of the finish and podium celebration for the annual Els Angels Hill Climb Time Trial.

Ascending Els Angels from the west, heading out of Girona, is one of the most popular climbs in the region.

Simply take the GIV-6703, leave La Creueta and carry on east following the signs for Els Angels. The fist 1k is quite gentle, but kilometers 2 and 3 may seem like a bit of a drag. It does get easier after that until the last couple of kilometers before the summit.

The hardest bit about climbing Els Angels is probably the length of the climb, just over 10km, and the easier gradients in the middle really allow you to take a breather and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
