Cabo da Roca in Sintra is the westernmost point of continental Europe.
Until the 14th century, Europeans thought it was the end of the world.
The highlight of Cabo da Roca is its wild landscape. Hiking trails lead
through the nature around the lighthouse, down to the sea, and along the cliffs.
Many guided tours include Cabo da Roca along with the sights
in Sintra.
The journey by public transport takes considerably more than an hour.
A rental car is an alternative. There is a café next to the lighthouse.

Westernmost point of mainland Europe. Great place to enjoy the sunset! But also quite touristy (quick restaurant and souvenir shop).
Regular bus connections to Sintra and Cascais all year round (there are train connections to Lisbon).
