Around 1963 (earliest photo), an observation tower was erected on the top of the Boasberg by Kurt Kretschmann and Helfer. His model was the wobbly tower from the opposite goat mountain.
The approximately 10 m high Wackelturm did its job for almost forty decades and more than 120,000 visitors of the house of nature care looked from there to the Oderbruch. At the end of the 90s, the self-built tower really shook and was replaced by a new owl tower in 2003/4 on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Kurt Kretschmann. The was a gift from the state of Brandenburg (Lottomittel) and the association "House of Natural Care" e.V. ..
The new tower is 16 meters higher and you can enjoy much safer and more comfortable the view into the valley. Incidentally, he got the name because the house of nature care is the birthplace of the "nature protection school".

Ahoy travelers!

The wooden tower, located in a beautiful garden, allows a view of the valley and forests.
It is located on the 12km long tower hiking trail.
You shouldn't be confused by the buildings in the surrounding city.

It's a cozy little town with a history. The trip is worth it!

Admission for adults (in trust fund) is € 2 (+ € 0.50 for the museums)

The Owl Tower is one of 4 towers in the immediate vicinity and part of the tower diploma, which you can complete if you conquer all 4 towers (observation tower on the Galgenberg, Schanzenturm, Owl Tower and Bismarck Tower).

The Owl Tower is on the nature reserve, and today a family day was also held. The beekeeper presented his work on the site. There are many different plants, allotments nearby and opposite is the exhibition on the subject of nature and nature conservation. Refreshments were also offered.

They would like a small donation for the tower and the site. A trip is definitely worth it. Especially since you can enjoy a beautiful view from above.
