This bullet trap was built at the end of the 19th century. The catcher is close to Fort Werk aan het Spoel. Soldiers practiced shooting at the adjacent shooting range, where this bullet trap was located at the end of the range. It was used to catch bullets that missed their target.

A bullet trap is a wall that catches bullets that have not hit the target.

There is a bullet trap next to the Fort Werk aan het Spoel in the meadow. This wall is made of brick and was built around 1880. This fort was used during the First World War and before the Second World War. Soldiers could learn to shoot at a shooting range next to the fort. At the end of the shooting range, which has now disappeared, is a bullet trap to catch the bullets that did not hit the target.
