Please note, places on Rangitoto island cannot be accessed on foot from either Narrow Neck or Takapuna, as these are on the mainland and there is the main shipping channel (no less), between those two places and the island!
Passenger ferries run from the CBD to the southern Rangitoto wharf and sometimes to the wharf at the south east.
