Thanks to its proximity to the middle station of the Stubai Gletscherbahn, the Dresdner Hütte in the Stubai Alps is easy to reach even with smaller children. On the playground children can let off steam, while parents enjoy the beautiful mountain panorma on the terrace. The Dresdner Hütte offers accommodation for the whole family in cozy double or shared rooms. During the winter season, the Dresdner Hütte is accessible from the end of October to mid-May. In summer, the popular destination from the end of June to the end of September opens its doors to hikers.

This cabin is an overnight cabin for trekkers, but is most visited by day tourists. This is due to the easy accessibility with the cable car. I personally think this cabin lacks charm! But it is the ideal starting point for beautiful hikes to the glacier, hike no 102 red-white is a winner! The path to the Egesengipfelkreuz is also recommended and the descent to the Mutterberg valley station is definitely a must!

Great place, lovely people and view! This is quite a touristy cabin because of its ease of access, so not the typical hiker cabin… but it was good for one night!

I found the area around the "hut" to be terrifyingly creepy; grey gravel paths lined with blue snow cannons plough up the slope. The noise of excavators and construction machinery echoes through the entire valley. The huge Dresdner Hut, on the other hand, is very pleasing. Inside, everything is cozy and made of wood and divided into small seating niches. The three-bed room with bunk beds almost had the feel of a hotel; after hiking for several days, we were happy to have excellent sanitary facilities and really good food.
