From far away you can see another landmark of Cadolzburg that is visible from afar: the lookout tower, popularly known as the “pencil”. Built in 1893 by Münchner Lokalbahn-AG and the Cadolzburg market, it has already served many visitors as a popular destination.
The “Rangaubahn” had been driving from Fürth to the Frankenmarkt since 1892 to admire the beautiful fruit blossom and the fantastic distant view of the Rangau. Even today, every visitor who climbs the 143 steps is rewarded with a remarkable view.
