The west side of the road was paved in September of 2019 making it paved all the way now. It is still a very beautiful ride but is also popular with cars and RV's heading into Taylor Park so pick your time and day accordingly. Because it is a high altitude road it is not maintained in the winter and closes to vehicles sometime in October, opening again sometime in May.
