The complex, popularly known as Herrenburg or Heidenburg, is the ruin of a hilltop castle.
Neither the builder nor the exact construction time nor the original name of the complex are known. Due to the use of Roman building poles, the complex was mistakenly mistaken for a late Roman hilltop castle. However, the finds suggest that they can be dated to the 11th and 12th centuries.
The castle originally had the shape of a rounded triangle that was 98 meters long and 68 meters wide.
