The former city hall of Medemblik was built in 1940 to a design by architect A. J. Kropholler. The building style is very traditional and is characterized by the solid brick appearance. The contrast with the nearby Lely pumping station, which was completed more than ten years earlier, could hardly be greater.

The sculpture in the facade and on the platform are creations of John Rädecker, known for his contribution to the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam.

The first floor is used as the City Museum of the Medenblick Antiquarian Society. Objects and archaeological finds from Medemblik and the surrounding area are shown here. In one room, the West Frisian Omringdijk is central. You will also find the furnished mayor's room on the first floor.

In the stairwell you will see three stained glass windows depicting episodes from the history of the city of Medemblik.

The council chamber, now a wedding location, on the second floor forms the heart of the building and is also open during Open Monuments Day. The interior still has its original furnishings and character.

The town hall of Medemblik is a former town hall in the North Holland town of Medemblik. It was built in 1939 to a design by the traditionalist architect A.J. Kropholler. Kropholler placed the building on an elevation and in the axis of van Nieuwstraat, which would also give the building more authority.

In the town hall, which is on the national monument list, the following objects are also protected:

*a copper plate from the map of Medemblik from 1599 by P. Utenwael

*tile panels in the fireplace of the mayor's room

*portraits of William of Orange, Maurits and Johan van Nassau and a so-called portrait of Radboud
