Cycling route RAVel 38 runs over a long distance via old railway lines. There are also several stations on the line. More information can be found via ravel.wallonie.be/nl/home/itineraires/local/ligne-38/de-herve-a-vaux-sous-chevremont-chaudfontaine.html

The old railway line and RAVel 38 are of course much more than just the blown-up Laschet tunnel that you find here. You can find more about that former tunnel at komoot.com/nl-nl/highlight/6859202

The former Lascheter tunnel was the only tunnel on line 38 and was 140 meters long. On August 2, 1914, the Belgian army blew up the tunnel entrance towards Liège, but it was repaired under high pressure by the advancing German troops. In 1940, the Belgian army blew up the Laschet tunnel altogether, and the German soldiers then completely excavated the railway line. A bridge crossing it, whose girders are still clearly visible today, was demolished in 1952.
