In 1996 the Westbeverner Krink built a refuge on Haus Langen on the edge of the Beveraue.

Two years earlier, lumberjack work encountered a colony of nearly 400 bats in an old, hollow trunk of beech trees.

In a large-scale rescue operation, the animals were temporarily resettled to the Lower Rhine near Wesel. Today they are back in the Beveraue. In memory of this event, the hut was called "Zur Fledermaus".

It not only serves as protection in rainy weather, it is also the target of numerous tourist groups.

A covered grill is available in the immediate vicinity on request. Due to the high demand, it is advisable to reserve both if necessary. The local gastronomy also delivers food and drinks on site.

>>The Krinkhütte "Zur Fledermaus" is a well-known destination for cyclists, hikers and horseback riders throughout the Münsterland. Every year it is visited by over 2,000 cyclists, hikers and smaller groups.

In the meantime, the bridle path of the district of Warendorf also leads directly past the Krinkhütte. A tethering device for riding horses was set up so that riders can also take a break. Running water for the horses is accessible at all times.

In the fall of 1995, more than 400 bats were found in a mighty hollow tree trunk during tree felling work and were temporarily quartered on the Lower Rhine for the winter. The following spring they were successfully released back home at Haus Langen.<<

The Krinkhütte is a great resting place, also for larger groups. Two cabins, lots of seating. Even a bicycle parking lot was created and the riders and their horses were also thought of.
