Engelenstede is a nature and recreation area located west of the hamlet of Kaathoven and southwest of Vinkel in North Brabant. The area has an area of 80 hectares. It is largely owned and managed by the City Region of 's-Hertogenbosch.

Engelenstede consists of mixed forest, dry and moist heathland remnants, some ponds and watercourses, and agricultural enclaves. The forests are interspersed with recreational meadows, on the north side the area is bordered by the Grote Wetering.

The name "Engelenstede" owes the area to a farm that stood in this area around 1760. The owner was called Van Engelen and had the statue of an angel bricked into the farm.

Originally a swampy heathland with fens, it was reclaimed around the beginning of the 20th century, and the Grote Wetering was dug to drain the area. Initially, Scots pine was planted to provide shoring wood for the Limburg mines. The forest was largely cleared during the Second World War by the Germans, and later by the English troops who stayed here. After the war, replanting took place, including the planting of American oak.

The current recreational area was created in 1980, when new mixed forests were planted, recreational meadows were created, and walking, cycling and horse riding trails were created through the area.
