                                    The Trave is a popular area for canoeists. After passing through the Wardersee, it is navigable.
                                    But the Trave does not choose the shortest route, but winds its way between meadows and fields to the southwest. On the way to Bad Segeberg, it flows into the Wardersee near Wensin. After a few hundred meters, the Trave leaves the lake again on the other bank. It is now so wide that the first paddlers are using the river. In summer, however, the water level is sometimes not sufficient. The rest of the river to Bad Segeberg is also only suitable for experienced athletes.

                                    Through the Trave valley via Nütschau monastery to Bad Oldesloe
                                    At Bad Segeberg, the Trave reaches its westernmost point, turns south and flows through the Trave valley past Nütschau monastery to Bad Oldesloe. Below the weir, the river is now also suitable for less experienced canoeists. The Trave winds its way around 30 kilometers in many curves towards the east to Lübeck.
