"... The very young Beeckerwerther Bridge was built in 1990 and is a motorway bridge (A42). It represents an important connection axis within the quiet area.
As a cable-stayed bridge, it is a good example of the economical construction of motorway bridges. From the two tower-like parts, also called pylons, ropes run parallel in the central reservation axis. Because of the advantages in terms of assembly and the cost of cable-stayed bridges, they are often found along the Rhine. ... "

"... The Haus-Knipp railway bridge lies between Duisburg-Beeckerwerth and Duisburg-Baerl on the course of the railway line from Meiderich to Hohenbudberg and crosses the Rhine. Construction began in 1910. It was opened to traffic in 1912 along with the entire line. The eponymous manor house Knipp was located in the immediate vicinity of the bridge and was demolished in 1939 when the Rhine dam was raised.
