Dr. Iacomi Gheorghe was born on April 19, 1914 in Piatra Neamt, where he attended the primary school and the Petru Rareş High School. He remained an orphan as a father at the age of 18, until he finished high school near the church, and the priest Iorgu Vasiliu believed that he would wear the priest's coat.
However, he studied medicine, years I-IV in Cluj and years V-VI in Bucharest, graduating in 1939. He goes through all the steps of confirming the quality of doctor, practicing medicine in Bucharest between 1936 - 1939. During the World War II was a doctor on the front line, going to the front of the Don.
In 1942 he returned to Piatra Neamt, where he worked as a specialist surgeon (1942 - 1949) and then as primary surgeon until retirement, (1978) with a 2-year break (1951 - 1952) when he set up the Municipal Hospital. Hunedoara, where he was both surgeon and director.
In the Piatra Neamt County Hospital he was chief medical officer of the department, and between 1948 - 1949 and 1957 - 1958 he was director of the same institution.
In addition to his passion for his profession, Gheorghe Iacomi has also shown a special love for nature, especially for the mountains. The precision of the surgeon's hand came together and complemented the painting of the mountain man, both in the reckless hypothesis of the paths and the pools, as well as when the hand drew dozens of plates, from the overall images to the smallest details of the Ceahlau massif.
He promoted and supported activities regarding the knowledge and protection of the environment as a means of education and maintenance of health, laying the foundations of mountain tourism and Salvamont in Neamt County.
Through his moral qualities and professionalism, Dr. Gheorghe Iacomi has done his duty to MAN and MOUNTAIN and his hand has never shook neither the scalpel nor the ax.
