The divorce is about 17 km long (from Oederquart via Wischhafen, Drochtersen, Grossenwörden to Hammah). My section Hüller Scheide) is about 7 km long. The Moordamm is a watershed and separates the drainage to the Elbe and Oste. Along the way natural wood. Retreat for birds (golden plover, buzzards, juniper thrushes, red thrushes, long-tailed tits, large curlews, lapwings, oriole, small songbirds, migratory birds, insects (sand bees), moor frogs, deer, rabbits. Small biotopes alternate with each other. Goal: networking of habitats. Security the divorce as a nature reserve (current discussion). The European long-distance hiking trail E 9 (Atlantic, North Sea, Baltic Sea) runs on the 7 km long section.
On foot, possibly with children and binoculars, this path is a little adventure.
It is a challenge on a bike: it is a natural grass path with a wavy surface. Full concentration when driving! Getting off and looking around is always worthwhile.
Do not drive in the rain! Dry soil and sunshine - then the journey works. In the end, the path turns into a new paved road in the direction of Großenwörden! Super flat, no more holes or bumps. From Grossenwörden the journey to Himmelpforten could continue.
